spektor general dentistryBellevue, Newcastle & Medina, WA

Welcome to Spektor Dental, a family dental office serving Bellevue, Medina and Newcastle. Our range of services includes preventive care and general and cosmetic dentistry. We are passionate about helping patients achieve their healthiest, most beautiful smiles. Our skilled and professional dental team strives to provide the highest quality of care while treating each patient as a member of our own family. Patient reviews say it all, but let’s explore what you can expect when visiting Spektor Dental.

First Visit

We welcome new patients. If you just moved to the area, or are looking to change dentists, our doors are open. Your first visit is an opportunity for us to get to know you, discuss your smile goals and establish a baseline for your oral health. We will gladly accept your dental records from a previous dental office. All new patients, however, must still complete required new patient forms. After reviewing your health history, we begin with an oral examination that also includes taking digital X-rays. We use these records to notate any changes that might occur between appointments. Should we detect any oral health concerns at this time, we will address those problems and recommend a treatment plan that fits your oral care needs.

During your new patient consultation, and any appointment thereafter, we want you to feel comfortable and relaxed. If you experience dental anxiety, please let us know when you schedule your appointment. We will make accommodations to help you feel at ease while receiving care. Also, we are happy to discuss with you the use of nitrous oxide {link once new page has been created}, a sedation dentistry option that allows you to feel relaxed and calm while receiving dental treatments.

General Dentistry Services

At Spektor Dental, our general dentistry services include:

  • Dental Cleanings – Recommended for patients of all ages, beginning at age one. These appointments should take place once every six months, or as recommended by your dentist. No matter how good you brush, you still develop plaque buildup on your teeth. This buildup only can be removed by a professional dental cleaning.
  • Fluoride Treatments – Most often recommended for children, fluoride treatments fortify dental enamel, the outermost protective layer, which protects against the threat of tooth decay. Adults, however, may also benefit from fluoride treatments. Be sure to ask us about custom fluoride trays that allow you to apply these treatments at home for added convenience.
  • Sealants – A tooth-colored coating that is applied in the crevices located on the chewing surfaces of the back teeth, sealants provide a barrier against tooth decay. Sealants are beneficial for children because they are notorious for not brushing their teeth well, and decay most often occurs in these back teeth.
  • MI Paste – Derived from a milk protein, this remineralizing crème can be applied after you brush and floss your teeth to fortify your enamel with calcium and phosphate, reversing white spot lesions and congenital enamel defects, as well as reducing tooth sensitivity.
  • Dental Fillings – When a cavity develops, a dental filling usually is recommended to repair the tooth. No metal fillings here, only tooth-colored fillings to provide patients with a confident smile.
  • Dental Crowns – Known as a cap that fits over the entire exterior of a tooth, dental crowns repair teeth that are cracked, broken, or severely decayed beyond what a filling could repair. We offer tooth-colored porcelain crowns, which seamlessly blend with your other teeth, providing you with natural-looking results.
  • Dental Bridges – One of the most relied upon tooth replacement options, this treatment will bridge the gap of a missing tooth and restore your smile and ability to chew your food well.
  • Partial and Complete Dentures – For significant tooth loss, a partial or complete denture may be beneficial to help you regain your confidence, stabilize your jaw alignment, and help you speak and eat with ease.
  • Emergency Dental Care – We accommodate emergency dental visits during our regular office hours for instances of severe toothaches, broken teeth, or an avulsed (knocked out) tooth.
  • Mouth Guards – Custom-made mouth guards protect your teeth against the effects of bruxism (teeth clenching and grinding) while you sleep.
  • Sports Guards – Protect your teeth while engaging in sports by wearing a custom sports guard, which provides superior fit and maximum comfort compared to store-bought varieties.
  • Periodontal Management (for gum disease) – Affecting nearly half of adults in the U.S., this common oral health disease can be managed with professional dental treatments. Laser gum therapy, deep dental cleanings (repetitive therapy), and the application of Arestin are a few ways that our Medina periodontist can manage your gum disease.

Benefits of Preventive Care

The purpose of preventive dental care is to keep a small dental problem from worsening. For example, getting a dental cleaning once every six months, as recommended by the American Dental Association, could lessen your chance of developing dental problems like cavities or gum disease. Likewise, filling a small cavity when it first appears could prevent you from needing extensive treatment later on, such as a root canal or even an extraction. As Benjamin Franklin once said, “An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.” This credo applies to all aspects of your health, including your teeth and gums.

For children that visit our Bellevue family dental office, we offer fluoride treatments and sealants to provide an extra barrier against the threat of cavities. Ask your dental hygienist if your child could benefit from these services during their next visit or contact us today.

Technology

Being a technically advanced dental office in Bellevue means that we offer patients leading-edge treatment while saving them time spent in the dental chair. Plus, the technology we use helps our doctors detect oral health concerns early on, which allows us to preserve more of the tooth’s natural structure.

Spektor Dental uses the following technologies:

  • DIAGNOdent – A specially designed device that detects cavities in the earliest stage, even before they can be seen by the eye. With more than a 90% accuracy rate, this device is key to maintaining as much tooth structure as possible when treating cavities.
  • Digital X-rays – Emitting only a fraction of the radiation of traditional radiographs, digital X-rays allow our doctors to see areas of your teeth and below the gum line to detect changes in your oral health, diagnose dental problems and create optimal treatment plans for the best outcomes.
  • Conebeam – This unique dental X-ray system captures three-dimensional (3-D) images of your mouth and jaw, which distinguishes nerve pathways, soft tissue and bone.

Paying For Your Visit

We understand that dental care can become costly, especially if you need care for your entire family. We always discuss your treatment plan options, as well as the costs involved, before beginning any treatment. Payment is expected at the time of treatment. We make every effort to file claims with your dental insurance, but please remember it is ultimately the patient’s responsibility to pay their balance, regardless of what insurance covers.

For your convenience, we accept payment in the form of cash, check, Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express.

If you are paying cash, be sure to ask us about our cash-pay discount and senior discounts that may apply

While dental care may seem expensive, neglecting your oral health is what costs the most in the long run. Dental care is an investment. Commit to small investments now so that you can preserve the health and beauty of your smile.

If you need additional assistance paying for your dental care, ask us about CareCredit, one of the world’s leading third-party financing companies that allows you to pay for your care up front, and then make monthly payments.
