Porcelain Veneers

Craig

“Dr. Spektor explained my alternatives and I decided on veneers. In three appointments I had new teeth, without the old gaps. I couldn’t be happier. It turned out excellent!” - Craig

If you have crooked or badly stained teeth that detract from your smile, porcelain veneers could make a huge improvement in your looks by reshaping and whitening your teeth. It’s one of the most dramatic improvements you can make to your smile.

Because applying veneers is a special art, you may find that not every dentist is comfortable with this procedure. At Spektor Dental, we have helped hundreds of patients improve their smiles with veneers, and are extremely well qualified to help do the same for you.

What are veneers?

Veneers are thin porcelain shells, like false fingernails, that are permanently adhered to the outsides of your teeth. They are carefully shaped to fit your real teeth perfectly. Veneers can make your teeth longer and more even. They will certainly make your smile whiter. When you choose veneers, you are making an investment for the highest quality materials used in cosmetic dentistry.

How are veneers applied?

It usually takes two appointments to complete your veneers:

During your first appointment the dentist removes a very thin layer of enamel, the hard outer layer of the tooth. (Anesthetic is not always required for this step.) Then the dentist takes an impression of your teeth, sends it to a lab that specializes in making veneers, and guides the lab to create veneers that reshape your smile.

At your second appointment, the thin porcelain shells will be glued to your teeth with a very thin layer of plastic. In no time at all you have a new smile.
