Minimally Invasive Dentistry
Advances in dentistry make it easier to find and eliminate decay, while ensuring a more comfortable experience for our patients.
Diagnodent Technology: Dedication to Early Detection

Diagnodent Scanner
Diagnodent is a new diagnostic tool that uses a laser light to measure the depth of decay in a tooth. Diagnodent uses harmless pulses of light and provides a digital readout of the level of decay detected in a tooth. The tool is especially helpful in identifying cavities in the deep grooves of hard-to-reach back molars. For our patients, finding cavities early means a faster, more comfortable restorative appointment—and a smaller filling that lets you keep more of your own healthy tooth.
Air Abrasion Technology: Spray Away Decay
We’ve been a fan of air abrasion technology since the KCP was first introduced in the 1990s. Once we’ve identified early decay using Diagnodent, we can remove small cavities with microscopic abrasive particles delivered through a spray of air – no drilling necessary! Once free of decay, we protect the tooth with a composite filling formerly called a sealant.
