Crowns & Bridges
“I was always conscious of my broken tooth because it looked terrible. I smiled with my mouth closed. Now I smile wide – the difference is unbelievable” - Mark M.
A porcelain crown (cap) is recommended when an old silver or gold filling needs to be replaced, but there is not enough tooth left to fill it. Crowns can be matched to the color of your teeth, and they look totally natural. When a tooth is missing, we can often bridge crowns together to fill the gap. Crowns can also help reshape and restore your smile.
What is involved in making a crown or bridge?
Crowning or capping teeth requires two or three appointments. At your first appointment you’ll receive anesthetic so that we can remove any old crowns or fillings, as well as any decay that has formed underneath. After the tooth is prepared, we give you a temporary crown to wear while the permanent crown is being made by a lab.
Try-on visits follow to allow for proper fit, accurate color match and shaping. We glue your crown in with an adhesive that will last for years.
Crowns close the gaps and give Mark something to smile about:
